Editorial Policy

Our Mission

NatureWeatherHub publishes clear, accurate, and useful information about weather, nature, climate, and travel. We prioritize credibility over speed and understanding over jargon.

Source Standards

Every article is built on verifiable sources. Our hierarchy of sources, from most to least preferred:

  1. Official meteorological agencies — NOAA, National Weather Service, World Meteorological Organization, national weather services (Met Office, JMA, BoM, etc.)
  2. Peer-reviewed research — Studies published in reputable journals, accessed via journals or official summaries
  3. Government data — NASA, USGS, EPA, European Environment Agency, and similar
  4. Established news organizations — Reuters, AP, BBC, and others with editorial standards
  5. Expert commentary — Statements from qualified meteorologists, climatologists, and scientists

We do not cite anonymous sources, unverifiable social media posts, or AI-generated content as sources.

Fact-Checking Process

  • Before publication: Every article undergoes editorial review. Claims are checked against primary sources. Statistics are verified. Quotes are confirmed.
  • For weather event articles: Specific details (dates, locations, measurements) are cross-referenced against at least two independent sources.
  • For evergreen content: Articles are reviewed quarterly for accuracy and updated if scientific understanding has changed.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently. Minor corrections (typos, formatting) are fixed silently. Significant corrections (factual errors, misattributions) are noted at the bottom of the article with the date and nature of the correction. See our full Corrections Policy.

Editorial Independence

NatureWeatherHub is independently operated. We do not accept payment for coverage, and no external party influences our editorial decisions. Sponsored content (if any in the future) will be clearly labeled.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. Changes will be noted at the top of this page.
